Summary

The Bloomington facility is a full-service contract manufacturing plant providing formulation, aseptic filling, and finish services. Through the implementation of lean principles this position supports the organization by transforming challenges into value-added business results and value creation for customers. As a core member of the Operational Excellence team, this person will drive OpEx deployment at the plant. This individual should be a strong team player with highly developed communication and problem-solving skills. This position reports to the OpEx Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (these are primary responsibilities of the role and the incumbent will perform other duties as assigned)

  • Supports and drives key OpEx programs at the site (VIPs, 6S, etc).

  • Utilizes key primary and secondary value streams to identify high-value improvement opportunities. Establishes baseline and target metrics.

  • Establish, communicate and create alignment on best practice/process improvement methodologies across the organization.

  • Works as liaison with customers and suppliers to extend lean Six Sigma methodologies throughout the supply chain.

  • Facilitates problem-solving for key gaps in plant performance expectations.

  • Coach and mentor site Green Belt candidates to ensure timely completion of their quality and/or cost focused projects- leading to the candidate’s certification.

Job Requirements (Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in science or engineering related field.

  • Certified Green Belt, with 3 years of Pharmaceutical experience, and a minimum of 1+ years of demonstrated process improvement success.

  • Must have experience managing teams and developing support programs.

  • Must have a working knowledge of LEAN tools and methodology.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills. The ability to drive change.

  • Strong analytical/statistical problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent reading, writing and verbal communication.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Minitab, and Outlook and the ability to use enterprise software systems (examples include: electronic document management, Trackwise, etc.).

Physical / Safety Requirements

  • Ability to meet Grade C gowning requirements.

  • Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends.

  • Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment is required.

  • Position requires sitting for long hours, but may involve walking/standing for periods of time.
