Gillman Home Center Lumber Yard Manager in Edinburgh, Indiana
The Lumber Yard Manager is responsible for ensuring and providing excellent customer service and performing the tasks involved in the overall operation of the lumber yard and associated equipment.
Provide exceptional customer service to team members, customers and vendors.
Works with sales team and lumber desk to coordinate daily deliveries in the most efficient route.
Build loads for delivery.
Load and unload lumber and building supplies.
Operates forklifts and other vehicles.
Keeps management apprised of any delays or discrepancies.
Keeps lumber yard clean, well organized and safe.
Oversee & Manage other yard staff.
Manage maintenance and repair of all yard vehicles.
Delivers loads to customers.
Keeps CDL active (if applicable) and acts as a back-up CDL Driver as needed.
Other duties assigned as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibility:This position directly manages all lumber yard employees.
Work Environment:Work is primarily performed outside with exposure to all weather elements.
Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation. The employee will be subject to pro longed standing, kneeling crawling climbing and carrying lumber and other materials. Must be able to climb ladders and to move and transfer materials around the lumber yard that can weigh up to 60 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position. Hours are Mon ? Fri 7am ? 4pm.
Travel:May have to drive deliveries to customers.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED diploma
Lumber Yard/Construction Experience.
Valid drivers license.
