Parkview North Hospital Scheduling Coordinator in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Summary Communicates and collaborates with the House Supervisor and Nurse Leaders, assigning Registry nurses to the greatest need according to their skill set, Registry PCTs based on unit needs, and Patient Safety Assistants to any sitter needs. Attends and manages the bed meeting five times in 24 hours to discuss the staffing needs of each unit, to determine where the greater needs are, and to assign Registry staff and extra staff to the greatest need. Makes calls and broadcasts to ask staff to pick up shifts to meet the needs of their units for immediate needs as well as for future needs. Receives sick calls, codes in API and notifies the unit nurse leader. Manages and completes e-mails and schedule changes for each shift. Makes calls to inform nurses and PSAs which facility they will be working at, who will float and who will be down staffed according to turn and coding is completed. Assigns the Patient Safety Assistants, prioritizing needs. Approves nursing payroll. Investigates payroll discrepancies for staff. Follows the schedule of schedules to ensure compliance with schedule deadline requirements. Acts as a resource for management for staffing templates, guidelines, API education and time coding issues. Manages FMLAs for all nursing areas, creates and updates schedules.
Education Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with GED.
Experience None required. Scheduling experience preferred. Other Qualifications Computer skills including knowledge of Office 365 and multi-system phone line competence. Time management skills, excellent customer
