Responsible for managing the operations for: Garrett, Indiana/Farmington Hills, Michigan and Independent aftermarket operations. Business unit consists of the OE Service and the distribution of the Independent Aftermarket. The operation includes small assembly, packaging, pick/pack, rivet and peen, logistics, production scheduling, maintenance, shipping and receiving, and HSE. Monthly shipments total approximately 900,000 pieces total to over $130M in annual sales. Position will be based out of Garrett, IN.DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with local and/or global management team to identify, evaluate, and improve the operations and cost saving opportunities for both Garrett IN/Farmington Hills MI-locations and Independent Aftermarket.

  • Work closely with key department heads on problem solving, issue resolution, and process management

  • Assess business conditions, evaluate emerging business needs and take action to address to improve service, reduce costs and/or generate incremental revenue to enhance operational results

  • Conduct performance appraisals; coach, direct reports to enhance individual and team performance;

  • Develop and maintain a succession plan; accountable for training and staffing activities; create expectations among team members, monitor results to ensure performance is meeting those expectations and take action to correct performance gaps and/or address improvement opportunities

  • Serve as the Management Representative for ISO 14001

  • Accountable for maintaining a safe environment for team members and visitors in accordance with company policies, Client and regulartory requirements; assist the HSE Specialist and Facility Supervisors in the development, implementation of Health, Safety, Environmental and Security programs and activities in compliance

  • Prepare, evaluate, and/or approve capital expenditure proposals and submit justification for entry into the annual capital budgeting process

  • Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget; evaluate and adjust proposed budgets to achieve overall company goals

  • Responsible for creating annual headcount and adhering to the budget

  • Review and evaluate performance of operations, address performance gaps and take corrective action, as needed, to ensure the operation is delivering on the operating goals.

  • Position will also assists with quality management system.

  • Travel required – domestic 30%, international-<5%


  • This position is responsible to organize, monitor and oversee all operational employees/activities within the Garrett, IN/Farmington Hills, MI locations and Independent Aftermarket.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or other related field. Will accept Associates Degree AND significant experience.

7-10 years of operations experience, ideally would be in Distribution Center/Warehouse Environment•Demonstrated proficiency in leadership skills such as coaching, counseling, conflict resolution, team building, goal setting and performance management•Demonstrated success in change management and organization transformation•Ability to drive continuous improvement to achieve operations excellence including but not limited to Lean, 5S, 6S, etc•Must possess the ability to apply the IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards•Familiar with Production Management Audit (PMA) desired•Familiar with Operations Excellence desired•Strong leadership skills including team facilitation, training and motivation•Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills•Ability to communicate complex and detailed information verbally, via telephone, in writing and in person•Working knowledge of financial analysis and operational analysis•Proficient in Microsoft Office (including creating charts and spreadsheets)•Adept at preparing and delivering an address or presentation in a business settingAble to foster collaboration with multiple diverse teams.•Able to handle multiple tasks, organize and coordinate activities effectively in complex situations•Experience in BPCS system highly desired•Six Sigma Green Belt certified desired
