Summary/Objective
Works with and through management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of profitability/productivity requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Builds relationships with plant personnel and provides support to plant functions and events.
Leads, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT).
Advises safety director on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions on a routine basis.
Working Conditions:
Primarily working indoors, office/manufacturing environment.
May sit or stand for several hours at a time.
May be on Production floor for several hours at a time.
Prolonged exposer to computer screens.
Repetitive use of hand to operate computers, printers, and copiers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or three to five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Essential Functions:

Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices.
Maintains safety files and records
Manages all Environmental reporting as necessary Air permit compliance.
Maintains all Sustainable projects and recycling at the site.
Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures when indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Conducts post-accident investigation and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.
Assist, set up and conducts training.
Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs.
Assist and maintain environmental reports including Storm water permits, SPCC etc
Prefer experience in OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory requirements.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Competencies
Organized.
Able to communicate both verbally and written on multiple levels.
Personable.
Knowledgeable on topics such as OSHA, DOT, etc.
Excellent Computer, communication and training skills
Bilingual a plus, but not required.
VPP experience a plus, but not required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities at this time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a Full-Time salaried position, and hours of work and days are decided by production and your reporting General Manager.
Travel
Travel is minimal and would be primarily local during the business day.
