Masco Corporation Logistics Internship in Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Description

Internship starts in May 2021 working 40 hours a week during the summer time frame and extending into the Fall Semester working 15-20 hours a week.

Purpose:

This is a unique opportunity for a college student to get a foundational Supply Chain and Logistics experience. You will be immersed in a fully functioning, fast-paced Logistics team. Within the role, you will develop experience in International Transportation, Domestic Transportation, and 3PL Warehousing and Distribution. In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in cross-functional Supply Chain, Operational, and Corporate initiatives. A successful candidate will develop the professional and technical foundation needed to propel them into a successful post graduate career.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the four Logistics functional areas

  • Lead Reporting and Data for Key Metrics related to 3PL Service, International Container Receipts, Inventory Variances, and Domestic Transportation.

  • Support analytics and report development for domestic and international transportation, 3PL warehousing, and distribution services (metrics, scorecards, cost analysis, etc.)

  • Document and improve business practices and processes

  • Complete performance management activities (includes service level, capacity planning, CI, etc.)

  • Contribute to Logistics team glasshouse meeting and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Prepare, analyze, and report forecasts for various Logistics and Supply Chain functions

  • Job shadow each of the other key Supply Chain functional groups and complete role reviews with each member of the Supply Chain Leadership Team

  • Support Master Data updates and reviews (Customs Compliance, TMS rates, etc.)

  • Participate in meetings with cross-functional and supply chain teams

  • Develop process documentation as needed to support departmental business continuity plan

  • Work with Distribution Specialist and Logistics Analyst to analyze and mitigate retail fines

Education & Experience:

  • Candidate must be pursuing bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering or related field.

  • The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively lead multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • In addition, the candidate must demonstrate skills in problem solving, continuous improvement, and interpersonal interactions.
