The Global Incentive Compensation team is the global leader for sales commission policies and processes for all of our direct and indirect sales teams, including North America, EMEA, APAC and Japan. The team has deployed the Xactly commission system globally through a centralized process with local set-up and support. The Global Incentive Compensation Manager reports to the Global Incentive Compensation Senior Manager. This position is a people manager role and will be responsible for the commissions processing for our direct sales team in North America. This role requires an individual who is able to work in a team environment, be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and demonstrates problem-solving and decision-making skills.

This is a working manager position and is a primary point of contact for sales management and account executives, including practical application and interpretation of the compensation plans, and resolving issues. This individual must be capable of generating several sales and business alternatives, which would maximize a business opportunity or solve an underlying problem.

This position will partner cross-functionally on process improvements with the teams that design the comp plans and quotas, Employee Success, Enablement, and Revenue Operations.


  • Manage the monthly and quarterly commission operations process for a set of direct and indirect sales teams. This includes understanding and applying the commission plan consistently, maintaining quotas and rates, ensuring Xactly commissions calculations comply with the plan, and managing exception requests. Provide expertise, support, and training to the teams on these plans.

  • Manage and properly resolve case inquiries for responsible sales regions. Process corrections and adjustments as they arise in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with stated SLA.

  • Communicate with Account Executives and VPs to drive requirements, communications, process improvements, and customer satisfaction. Effectively handle escalations as they arise.

  • With each new fiscal year, participate in rolling out new plans, including training, UAT, and updating policies and processes.

  • Support the Sr. Director and Sr. Manager and participate in the monthly Commissions Advisory Committee. Liaise with global teams to clarify requests that require escalation, prepare documentation and recommendations, and implement decisions.

  • Develop and deliver training, commission policy and process and related documentation for all commission areas. Collaborate with sales management and global commission teams.

  • Create and drive a project plan for delivering cross-regional and interdepartmental process improvements.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 6+ years related experience, which includes a working knowledge of incentive commission plans.

  • Minimum of 4+ years experience utilizing automated commission systems (e.g, Xactly, Callidus, etc.)

  • Must have strong Excel skills.

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge or background with CRM or SAAS business model preferred

  • Experience with complex crediting and commission plans and structures

  • Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills; process-oriented

  • Strong desire and ability to coach, develop, and mentor employees

  • Ability to manage programs and processes globally

  • Ability to communicate across various functional groups within an organization, globally

  • Superior problem-solving skills

  • Must be able to accurately compile and synthesize both quantitative and qualitative data

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines
