What you’ll be doing

You will be working on the VMware Tanzu Labs Services Strategy team. You’ll primarily partner closely with Customer Experience and Success Product Manager to bring multiple people together across the business and ensure projects achieve their desired goals. You’ll support the dedicated work of evolving our Services Portfolio to achieve desired goals, working closely with Product Management, Product Design, and others as they engage in continuous improvement. You’ll also support our Services Strategy team in other ways as needed, bringing your strengths in project management and operations to bear on our work to deliver on our strategy and ensure we’re succeeding for customers.

You will be responsible for

  • Solution discovery. Working with teams to discover customer problems, and create valuable, desirable and feasible solutions. Ensuring we have strong feedback loops between sellers, services delivery, customers, partners, and the product team. Working closely with Product Management to ensure that the signals are pulled from the “noise” and acted on, and inform the right backlogs. Ensuring we have a strong system in place for this, and that it successfully scales.

  • Enablement. Ensuring that we are effectively training people-- on-staff consultants, partners-- to successfully deliver services, ensuring sellers are effectively prepared to sell them, and applying a user-centered approach to how we iterate. This involves strong partnership with a number of teams, internally.

  • Communications: Ensuring those stakeholders who stand to benefit from learnings through Solution Discovery-- particularly, but not exclusively, members of Product & Services-- are always aware of important patterns and insights, and are creating experiments to act on them as needed. Creating transparency with respect to what we do.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Project management: Strong track record of managing projects within agreed scope, schedule, cost and quality that involve variety of teams across an enterprise business

  • Charters and/or clarity of goal: Ensuring that everyone involved in a cause has a shared understanding of the end desired outcome. Ensuring one-pagers exist for all important initiatives

  • Action management/follow up: Ensuring that noted actions have clear owners, and that owners take those actions

  • Identifying/unblocking blockers: Ensure blockers are identified early, and are unblocked

  • Communications & project health reporting: Will be responsible for ensure we are providing regular, clear snapshots of project health/blockers/etc to key stakeholders; will manage compilation of this information

Role Specific Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, SharePoint as well as Google Suite

  • Experience with Jira and GitLab

  • Familiar with Salesforce

  • Tableau is nice-to-have
