Dohrn is currently seeking a Senior Driver Trainer at our Indianapolis, IN Terminal. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Maintain regular terminal visit schedule with employees and operational personnel; conduct safety meetings, terminal audit and review terminal fleet safety performance history. After visit, complete a terminal activity report outlining completed tasks in detail. * Monitor employee performance, provide counseling, defensive driving and appropriate training programs for prevention of accidents, injuries and OSHA violations and to maintain regulatory compliance. * Responsible for Accident Prevention Program, Injury Prevention Program, Wellness Program and Terminal Compliance at assigned terminals. Assign training and monitor to ensure course or ride along was completed and documented. * Perform terminal audit in detail maintaining thorough review of all areas including material handling equipment, facility, domiciled vehicles and shop areas. * Conduct formal quarterly terminal audits at assigned terminals for compliance in OSHA and terminal standards * Responsible for key person timely and accurate administration of driver and employee qualification files, driver hours of service compliance, documentation of training, advancement, fundamentals and out of service history for drivers, vehicles and hazardous materials. * Address terminal safety needs and provide necessary guidance as needed by working with terminal manager and fleet safety personnel. * Responsible for assigned terminal performance results and maintaining accident and injury frequency within company goals. * Analysis of type and cause of accident and injury events to determine root cause and recommend appropriate remedial action. * Analyze monthly and quarterly data and identify trends and patterns, prepare written report and review results with terminal management and supervision * Responsible for soliciting, approving, tracking and monitoring advancement candidates progress * Communication and interaction with local terminal trainer to provide flexibility in management of assigned terminal responsibilities. * Responsible for driver trainers at assigned terminals, each driver trainer will be required to have an evaluation ride conducted by you to ensure consistent training company wide. * Responsible for keeping local driver trainers informed on program changes, updated regulations and policy changes. * Driver evaluation rides on a scheduled basis, road patrol reports and monthly/quarterly performance reports. * Perform recruitment responsibilities as required, including: Screen applicants, review applicants, schedule interviews, and conduct interviews in conjunction with Terminal Managers and Directors. Recommend prospective employees for driver and dock positions. * Monitor and maintain compliance with the Samsara system and corporate log audit program, any violations must be reported to Director of Safety. * Review and monitor speed alerts, Samsara Events and observation videos. Provide education, training, counseling with driver as required. Maintain and enter documentation in driver file and safety database. * Responsible for nominating and interviewing candidates for Quarterly nominations awards. * Responsible for entering all violations, citations, inspections, observations, and overweight's, develop a plan to reduce these areas. * Represent Company at industry functions * Work in a positive manner to meet company expectations. * Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned ]MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * A minimum age of 23 * A minimum of 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience * Must pass a road test administered by a Dohrn Transfer Driver Trainer * Must possess, or obtain within the required time period, and maintain Hazardous Material and Tanker endorsements on their current valid driver's license issued by the resident state in which they reside * Must possess only one valid driver's license (CDL-A) issued by the resident state of the driver; Operators who have recently transferred from another state must produce a copy of the former license or provide license information for verification from that state; Drivers will need to provide information on all licenses held within the previous 36 months * No record of citation or conviction of any DUI / OWI or Reckless Driving within the previous 5 years * Must have and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) * Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and functional screen * Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen; Dohrn Transfer must receive a negative result * Dohrn Transfer must receive a negative controlled substances and alcohol result from prior employer(s) for the past three-year period; No prior evidence of controlled substance use * There must be no instance of refusal to submit to an alcohol or controlled substance test within the past three-year period, including pre-employment testing * Must consent to a 10-year check on work history; Gaps of 30 days or more must be listed and explained; documentation may be requested; Discrepancies may prevent applications from being processed or withdrawal of the job offer * Must have the ability to read and write the English language and also perform simple mathematical calculations * Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills * Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products * Travel is required WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Gripping of various sizes and weights of up to 100 pounds * Lifting of up to 100 pounds from ground level to 45"; Lifting at waist level or 36" * Front carry up to 100 pounds for 250 feet * Push/pull up to 60 pounds of horizontal force * Sitting up to 10 hours per day * Standing and Walking occurs frequently * Climbing, Squatting, Crouching, Balancing, or Kneeling occurs occasionally, * Crawling occurs rarely * Reaching occurs frequently, while shifting gears, moving freight, loading and unloading the trailers and turning the steering wheel, along with closing the rear trailer doors. * Grasping and handling occurs frequently while loading and unloading freight, opening and closing trailer doors, turning the steering wheel along with turning the hand crank to raise and lower the front jacks on the trailer * It is critical to speak with coworkers and customers in order to safely and properly perform essential job functions To navigate to the Dohrn Transfer Career Center and apply for this position, please go
