Anthem’s Fast Forward-Future of Care team is looking for an innovative, high energy, strategic problem solver to play an integral role in our cross-functional matrixed team as we power Anthem’s future and significantly improve customer experience in the crucial Access to Care journey within our Utilization Management, Care Management, and Grievance and Appeal value streams.

Our team’s vision is to reimagine all aspects of our members’ Access to Care journey so they receive high quality affordable care at the right time and right place, and our providers are able to focus on delivering that much needed care. We will pursue end-to-end opportunities that maximize our members’, providers’ and associates’ experiences, improve health outcomes and drive medical cost trend improvement and efficiencies. We will leverage exponential technologies and effectively assemble digital, data and analytical assets and capabilities in this endeavor.

As part of this FastForward Future of Care effort, we will

  • Create visibility into the current customer experience in critical moments that matter in driving access to affordable high quality care

  • Define the reimagined future state customer experiences

  • Drive cross-functional connectivity in what, why, and how we deliver to our customers

  • Create accountability for delivery of people, process, and technology improvements and subsequent goal realization

  • Advance key culture, behaviors and mindset changes to scale customer-centricity across the enterprise

Position Description The Strategy Director will be responsible for Fast Forward-Future of Care team’s strategy formulation, strategic planning and executive communications. The role will work hand-in-hand with Future of Care team members, and will engage a team of cross-functional clinical, digital, provider and data leaders and SMEs to develop and execute the Future of Care strategic vision. Please note: This is not a Project Manager position. This role is responsible for thinking strategically, bringing analytical thought process to strategy formulation, looking at strengths and weaknesses, and ensuring effective solutions and strategies are prioritized, implemented, and measured. Primary duties to include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborates with business partners and executive leadership to define the future vision, strategy, and key metrics of success for Future of Care team

  • Brings a market-backed outside-in perspective to develop and inform the strategy.

  • Identifies and researches perspectives on organizations that deliver best-in-class consumer experience and drive strategic outcomes related to access to care

  • Champions breakthrough projects to transform our current business environment into industry leading best practice organization

  • Translates the Future of Care strategy into executable programs, projects, priorities, timelines, and roadmap

  • Establishes, maintains, and executes stakeholder management and communication plan/strategies

  • Collaborates with senior team and staff to develop tactical plans and communication strategies

  • Creates and presents high quality presentations to executive levels

  • Oversees definition, development and implementation of metrics to report and monitor progress against goals and ensures plan supports strategy milestone deliverables

  • Monitors, measures and communicates delivery against strategic plan and the quality of outcomes

  • Provide guidance on strategic priorities across multiple initiatives and programs to drive the right value at the right time for the right stakeholders

  • Act as the key point of contact for other teams in Reimagine, Digital and across the enterprise to partner together to ensure alignment of the Future of Care strategy to their respective strategies

  • Serve as a thought partner to the Future of Care leads

Qualifications

Requires a BS/BA degree in a related field; 10 years of strategic planning, project/program management, vendor management experience including 3 years of leadership/management with business knowledge in multiple disciplines within a Healthcare organization; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Advanced skills in PowerPoint and highly proficient in Excel. Masters degree preferred. Ability to travel 25%.
