Beckman is looking for an experienced Project Manager who has a drive and passion for the sciences and shares our mission. As the Project Manager you will ensure overall success of New Product Development projects in Genomics. The position requires advanced experience, skills, and performance to oversee these projects, to achieve project scope, quality, and on time delivery in alignment with strategic goals.

Project manager responsibilities:

  • Develops project plans, identifies dependencies, builds and assesses time and budget estimates analyze critical path, analyzes risks and constraints, and identifies resource requirements.

  • Has an extensive understanding of the Master Schedule and each team member’s deliverables to the extent that impacts are understood immediately and counter-measured as needed, and has an understanding of the product development process and design controls.

  • Identifies and leads project issues, risks, and schedule conflicts and applies problem-solving methodologies with the team as needed.

  • Develops effective relationships, builds credibility, establishes rapport, and maintains communication with partners at multiple levels, including those external to the organization. Develops partnership, respect, and a healthy rapport with all co-workers.

  • Adheres to all policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years exp. OR Master’s degree in with 5+ years exp.

  • Validated project management experience in the product development program, and confirmed experience leading a sophisticated work environment (cross-functional teams, multiple sites, multiple products, etc.)

  • Excellent time management, presentation, communication, and meeting facilitation skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and lead multiple projects, meet demanding deadlines and adjust to sudden changes in workflow, and has strong problem-solving skills.

  • Strong leadership and Excellent collaboration skills and negotiating skills with an ability to communicate to people at all levels of the organization

  • May require some travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or biology or a related field.

  • Technical background, experience in Genomics or Life Sciences company preferred.

  • Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute.
