Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of inbound and outbound freight transportation needs both domestically and internationally. Coordinator will work closely with international freight forwarders and many 3PL providers. Must have experience and a thorough understanding of international freight requirements, customs documentation and knowledge working with customs brokers for both air and ocean shipments. Ideal candidate will have the ability to work with international freight forwarders for coordination of international shipments. This position is responsible for providing the shipment of products at the best cost while maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction. Coordinator must work well in a team environment handling multiple priorities.



  • Strong knowledge of multi-modal logistics pricing models (air, parcel, ground, ocean, customs brokerage). Ability to identify process compliance failures and regulatory risks.

  • Arrange shipment moves including import and export of ocean and air shipments.

  • Responsible for obtaining international freight quotes, scheduling loads, managing deliveries and obtaining PODs

  • General knowledge of shipping operations

Support Customer Service

  • Tactical/professional communication with external customers including carriers, freight forwarders and suppliers

  • Ability to effectively communicate need dates, shipment lead times, and load status

  • Understanding of current constraints on air/ocean shipments and the ability to proactively plan within the constraints to meet customer demand

  • Special projects and participation in various initiatives

  • Address escalated vendor inquiries in a timely manner

  • Ability to work with warehouse mgmt. systems and carrier website to obtain BOLs, PODs, and other pertinent documents

  • Arrange special shipping services for white glove deliveries and special projects.


  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize tasks

  • Must have ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency

  • Must be a strong team player and be able to work independently

  • Professional oral and written communication

  • Commitment to excellence and high standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
