The Site Material Receiving Manager role is based in Mitchell, IN and is part of the Mitchell Moderinization Project Team. The Mitchell Project scope includes the execution of a new 7000 tpd clinker line and 2.6 mtpy finish grinding systems. The Project will be built at the existing Mitchell Indiana Cement Manufacturing facility.

What you’ll get to do

  • Manage receiving and storage of equipment supplied by various Suppliers. Work with the material receiving contractor in conjunction with the Site Team and Project Management Team. Monitor costs of site receiving contractor. Prepare and monitor delivery schedules. Provide periodic reports to Project Management.

  • Identify, prepare and resolve any claims from any parties made during the site activities.

  • Assure complete receipt of equipment, identify shortages and damages.

  • Utilize technical knowledge of cement manufacturing equipment including structural steel and electrical equipment to minimize costs to the Company.

  • Manage the distribution of the received equipment and materials to various installation contractors to assure no claims are made back to the Company for shortages of parts.

  • Work with the Project Team and Document Management to assure the equipment is stored and maintained per the Suppliers documents and recommendations.

  • Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by Project Management.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in materials receiving for major industrial projects.

  • Authoritative understanding of material receiving, and claims management and practices gained through broad and deep experience in cement projects.

  • Solid understanding of contracts

  • Solid computer skills. Ability to learn and utilize third party inventory software.

  • Very broad knowledge and understanding of the equipment used for the cement manufacturing process.

  • Solid organizational skills to coordinate and integrate the sub functions of the project team for the complete run time of the project.

  • Good skills to understand, influence and communicate with people to achieve the goal of the project. Strong communication in both, oral and written forms.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Prior experience with Cement plant projects preferred.

Work Environment

  • Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
