Support accounting/finance function by performing general accounting and accounts payable activities.

The Senior Payroll/Accounts Payable Clerk: Supports accounting/finance function by performing payroll processing, payroll reconciliations and

accounts payable activities.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Promotes Helmer values as demonstrated in personal productivity and quality of work, management of internal/external relationships, actively seeking out and participating in Continuous Improvement practices, and willingness to engage and support team initiatives.

  • Comply with workplace safety procedures

  • Process timely and accurate bi-weekly payrolls for hourly, salary and comission employees using a payroll data system; Track and verify a variety of payroll related information (e.g. time and attendance data, leave time, direct deposits, benefits, wage attachments, PTO overages etc.) to ensure accurate disbursement of funds and payroll.

  • Provide outstanding customer service by responding to payroll inquiries from employees and outside agencies, providing information or direction as needed, and researching and resolving discrepancies payroll information and documentation.

  • Liaise with payroll providers on all payroll matters and act as intermediary for HR and accounting.

  • Work with payroll and tax filing service providers to maintain all payroll records, reports, and tax filings, and manage jurisdictional registrations. Manage relationships and documentation for all required jurisdictions, including registrations and closing accounts.

  • Support the year-end reconciliation of retirement plans and year-end tax filing for Company by working with internal and external parties.

  • Accounts Payable – Process purchase order invoice matching, miscellaneous expense invoices, freight invoices and employee expense reports.

  • Vendor and other investigations/reconciliations

  • Maintains all vendor files; to include filing of all invoices and storage retention

  • Process employee expense reports – verify receipts and account coding, process forpayment.

  • Print weekly check and ACH batch – pull designated invoices for payment, apply copy to invoices and file; maintain and update vendor accounts.

  • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Relative Work Experience: 5+ years of Payroll Processing and 1-3 years of Accounts Payable experience in a

manufacturing environment.

Education: Associates Degree in Finance, Accounting or related area.

Certifications / Licenses: None required.

Computer Systems / Software: · Fluency with Microsoft Office including Excel required · Experience with third party payroll processing software required (Paylocity and AOD preferred)

· Ability to follow established procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data; concentrate on routine work details amid periodic interruptions.
