Coyne Veterinary Services, LTD Experienced Kennel Manager in Saint John, Indiana

Full-service hospital in St. John, IN seeks experienced Kennel Manager. As a non-appointment practice, we are seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented individual to join our dedicated team.Primary functions include but are not limited to:

  • Lead by example in professionalism and maintain accountability of all policies and procedures

  • Oversee training and developing of team members, including offering daily feedback as well as writing and delivering performance reviews

  • Perform end-of-shift walk through's to ensure all standards of care have been met and that all job tasks have been completed.

  • Assign job duties to staff members for each shift

  • Obtain client and patient information using veterinary software, Cornerstone

  • Follow and enforce guidelines in the employee handbook, including verbal & written disciplinary action

  • Mediate employee conflict

  • Staff scheduling

  • Providing the highest level of customer service to our clients, including managing any customer complaints

  • Attend mandatory continuing education

  • Maintain confidentiality of the business and financial status of the hospital

  • Help create an environment of teamwork and respect!

Successful candidates should:

  • Have a minimum of two years of direct management experience of a team of five or more employees. To be considered for this position, you must have experience managing a team in an animal care related setting.

  • Have a genuine love for animals; they are the center of our business!

  • Be willing and able to teach basics of canine and feline behavior; monitoring the canine daycare will be required

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel

  • Possess strong verbal communication skills and the ability to train and develop teams

  • Possess strong skills in organization, multi-tasking, and an attention to detail

  • Demonstrate proven internal and external customer service skills

  • Have weekend and evening availability

Physical Obligations:

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

  • Endure standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods of time

  • Able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment
